Swing Axis 4 Paraglider $3500 - $3650
|
A DHV 1 glider should be uncomplicated, but the Axis 4 offers more than
a pure training glider. It has even simpler handling and higher safety
margins than its predecessor. It also has a longer life expectancy -
making it ideally suited for training! What’s more, the performance and
dynamics
of the AXIS 4 mean it is great fun to fly. In addition to these
features, the Swing development team has achieved a glider with good
aesthetics, which shows the high standards it sets for its own work.
A notable feature of the profile is its very low tendency to pitch
forward. It has particularly simple and good-natured launch behavior and
excellent properties in thermal flying. The late stall point and the
progressive control pressure make the Axis 4 a particularly forgiving
glider. This makes it perfect for beginners who are getting familiar
with the control lines. Notwithstanding its DHV 1 rating, pilots can
very quickly experience the pleasure of their first thermal and
cross-country flying, given the AXIS 4’s relatively high level of
agility.
The canopy structure of the Axis 4 has been completely redefined. The
rounded openings on the bottom surface allow pilots to launch very
easily even if conditions are somewhat unfavorable. Swing have reduced
the overall line length by using a thinner material for the lines and
adopting a new line geometry. This reduces drag and increases
performance.
Quality is no accident. Consistent refinement of the computer programs
in use at Swing makes manufacturing methods more and more precise.
This ensures the high profile accuracy and uniform stress distribution
in the paraglider. The AXIS 4’s attractive and clean silhouette is the
result of careful development work.

Swing Arcus 6 Paraglider $3650 - $3700
|
The success story of the Arcus range continues with the Arcus 6. Swing
has retained the successful concept behind the original Arcus and
transferred it to a completely new design. Like its predecessors, the
Arcus 6 (unaccelerated) complies with the requirements for the LTF 1
class (German airworthiness standards). It is ultimately up to the pilot
to decide whether to make the glider an LTF 1-2. Nevertheless, pilots
need not go without the handling and high trim speed of the LTF 1-2 in
unaccelerated flight.
The
Arcus glider is and will continue to be the perfect all-round glider for
more than 60% of paraglider pilots. It enjoys the praise of what is
probably the biggest following in the paragliding scene. There is good
reason why more than 10,000 Arcus gliders have been sold around the
world. So our development team led by Michael Hartmann was even more
excited about the challenge of improving on the predecessor with the
Arcus 6. A total of 18 prototypes were fine tuned until the flight
behavior satisfied the team’s demands and any remaining imperfections
were ironed out.
Not only is the design new, but Swing has also broken new ground in the
conversion of 3D computer models into 2D templates for production. Less
sail tension in combination with the round air-entrances made it
possible to design a canopy which is extremely smooth. Its harmonious
profile, matched with an appealing and snappy design, emphasize the
unique nature of the Arcus 6.
The Arcus 6 Compact is available on a special order basis.

Swing Mistral 6 Paraglider $3800 - $3875
|
The Mistral range was presented back in 1996 and has indisputably
established itself as paragliding’s most sought-after DHV 1-2 glider.
The amazing success of the Mistral 6 has proven once again that Swing’s
concepts are very well received
New software, many prototypes, countless tests and great dedication –
this is how Swing's experienced development team under the leadership of
Manuel Croci was again able to move in
new
directions. For Swing, so-called “innovations”, and the marketing hype
that goes with them, have never formed the basis for a new development.
“A high resale value for Swing gliders” is the response from our
customers in more than 60 countries. They appreciate this compliment.
Growing numbers of experienced pilots are now flying DHV1-2 gliders. Not
only are they further developing their flying ability, but they are
placing higher and higher demands on the gliders they choose. Swing is
very quick to recognize relevant development trends which will produce a
successful glider and, in its position as market leader, it also takes
an active part in shaping trends.
All pilots should be able to enjoy awe-inspiring cross-country flights
whilst remaining relaxed and clam. Its convincing balance, combined with
appealing sportiness, make the Mistral 5 a very persuasive and classy
DHV1-2 glider. It goes without saying that Swing, with its 20 years of
development experience, meets the highest performance and safety
demands.

Swing Mistral Twin Paraglider $4100
|
The Swing development team wanted to design a high-performance tandem
glider with good-natured flight characteristics, so it returned to the
design principles of the successful Mistral 3. The result is the Mistral
Twin, which combines direct and energy-saving handling with simple
launch and flight behavior. This guarantees both high safety and much
enjoyment when flying tandem on good thermal days.
The particularly simple launch characteristics and excellent thermal
properties of the Mistral Twin make it suitable both for professional
use with inexperienced passengers and also for tandem cross-country
flights.
The Mistral Twin's low take-off speed is outstanding. Even with a high
load, three steps are generally needed for the pilot and passenger to
take off. This helps with safety, particularly if passengers are
inexperienced or if launch conditions are unfavorable. The control
pressure of the Mistral Twin is very low compared to other tandem
gliders in the upper range and increases progressively. The glider has
good dampening and high ground stability in turbulence and at the same
time gives the pilot sensitive feedback on air movement and canopy
response. It also has very good climb and glide features. With its
unusually large weight range from 135 to 230 kg, the Mistral Twin is
particularly suitable for professional use.

Swing Astral 6 Paraglider $4000
|
With an aspect ratio of 6.4 and a very impressive glide angle which
comes amazingly close to the Stratus 7’s glide ratio of 9.6, (more
accurate figures are
underway),
this sporty intermediate glider will win you over with its fantastic
handling and high-performance look. Its
tremendous performance potential, coupled with particularly smooth
handling and impressive flight stability, make the Astral 6 the absolute
top glider for performance-oriented cross-country pilots! Its
balance assists pilots to follow their course accurately and with
confidence, to detect movements of air masses and to use them for the
best possible ascent, whatever the conditions. At all times, the Astral
6 progresses comfortably and reliably and minimal steering adjustment is
needed to maintain the desired bank angle.
For the first time, High Arc Technology (high aspect ratio with strong
canopy curvature) was successfully transferred from the competition
scene to an intermediate glider. In addition to the measurable
performance and aeronautical advantages, it gives the Astral 6 its
distinctive and elegant high-performance appearance – this will make any
paraglider pilot’s heart beat a little faster. The new HAT concept
allowed Michael Hartmann’s development team not only to make it as ideal
as possible for competition and XC, but also to satisfy all LTF 2
maneuvers.
With the Astral 6, Swing is signaling that all future product
development will aim for maximum performance, even in lower glider
categories. This revolutionary leap in performance was made possible by
the combination of technical know-how acquired through more than 23
years of experience in paraglider design with the enthusiasm to break
new ground. Performance-oriented
pilots who appreciate maximum enjoyment should not miss out on the
Astral 6!
